The ESB has launched a public consultation for their Helvick Head Offshore Wind project here (Closing date Monday 11th July 2022).
They provide digital ‘visualisations’ of how the turbines will look from various points along the Waterford coast.
We believe these visualisations are profoundly misleading and do not represent how the turbines will look if the project comes to fruition.
We have created a simple comparison to an active offshore wind farm in the UK below.
We encourage the public to notify their elected representatives of the consultation and to provide feedback to the ESB via the consultation here .

This will be detrimental to my livelihood as a fisherman from helvic head the cable from the windmills alone will cover miles off fishing grounds not to mention the windmills themselves. My boat insurance will not allow me to fish anywhere near the the wind farm. Considering that my fishing are is out too 20km from shore
Move these monstrosities to at least 22km off shore and preserve the natural beauty of this area.
